There are literally thousands and thousands of vintage figurines in circulation, collections, homes, and offices.  They can be found in a huge array of styles, objects, shapes, sizes and scenes.  Some vintage figurines are worth a great deal of money while others are just pretty and add a nice touch to any décor.  Check out some unusual vintage figurines we have found.

The beautiful Capodimonte figurine above is Exquisite Dancer by Vittorio Sabadin, a famous Italian sculptor.  This sculpture is artfully detailed and framed with 24K gold throughout.    We found it in an upscale antique shop about 25 years ago and it has been proudly displayed in our collection ever since.

Sabadin was born in northern Italy in the early 1950s and grew up inspired by classical Italian art.  Over the years he has created many sculptures unsurpassed in detail, artistry and beauty.  The figurines are not easy to find and also carry a higher price; but for those looking for rare and exquisite sculptures, you will not be disappointed with Sabadin art.

NAO figurine

This porcelain sculpture may be immediately presumed to Lladro’. In a way, it is; however, it is NAO.  NAO was established in the late 1960s in Spain and was acquired by Lladro’ later on.  While very similar in appearance, NAO figurines are typically less expensive than Lladro’ due to fewer colors and molds used and designs that are less detailed.

Snowman figurine

Is this Lladro or NAO?  Neither.  It is just a cute little, unidentified sculpture, perfect for Christmas.  As in anything, “knockoffs” are found copying the authentic artists and sold for much less.  This sculpture has no markings on it so it is presumed not to be “real”…however, it is a cute addition to holiday décor.

The pretty woman in the fancy chair sculpture is done in a French Renaissance theme.  There is good detail throughout the sculpture.  It retails for about $90.00.

Renaissance lady

Two more inexpensive but detailed sculptures…both are part of the Mirella Collection. One depicts two women with umbrellas and fancy dresses and the other is a boy in a boat.  Both around $75.00.

A Meissen style design, this figurine is significantly detailed right down to the strings in his musical instrument.

Vintage figurines can be found in vintage shops, thrift stores, antique stores, yard sales and estate sales.  If you are looking for resale or collection values, be sure to check the markings closely.  If you are just looking to add vintage figurines to your décor, go for it.  They are fun, typically very detailed and become a great conversation piece.
