As you travel through thrift stores and vintage shops, you typically will find vintage animal decor including sculptures, statues and creations in a broad array of styles and objects. Some of these animal pieces are exquisite and rare; some are pretty or cute, and some are whimsical. Some even have some value attached to them. However, they are all cute and fun to have in a collection.
The green monkey Chinoiserie bowl is a rare find and very pretty. It is about 50 years old and made of ceramic. The detail is interesting and the colors are bright. When found, it prices at about $240.00.
This black stallion porcelain piece is called Love’s Magic and is a 1994 fine porcelain from Princeton Gallery. The little figurine is affordable at about $65.00 and is a great collector’s item. Other horse figurines have been produced in this series mostly in the 1990s that offer white horses, multiple horses together and colts.
Walk this Way sculpture was hand painted by J. P. Emblem and produced by Franklin Mint in 1989 and consists of a family of four penguins taking a walk. It is valued at about $40.00. It is part of a series with similar depictions of the darling penguins.
These very different styles of elephants each have a vintage history with values ranging from $15.00 up to about $100.00. The bronze elephant is small with some weight to it. The jeweled elephant is colorful and fun. The gray porcelain elephant is the most valuable with its gold tip feet and tusks running at about $100.00. The pewter elephant is quite ornate as is the green glass elephant.
The bronze lion also has some weight to its solid body and is regal in appearance. The bull is a gold painted piece of pottery with interesting lines.
The black and white vintage wall pocket cat is worth about $50.00 and is really cute, especially for a cat lover or child. It can also be hung on the wall with a plant in it.
The wooden carved fish is unusual and very pretty in a collection or on a table. It is solid with a gold dusting on the top.
The tiny tiger is vintage and only a couple of inches tall and wide. Has a value of about $45.00.
